was founded on March 18, 2025, by Raymond and Julia Cortez in loving memory of their son, Preston Cortez. Preston was a remarkable young man whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His passing at just 17 years old was a heartbreaking loss to his family, friends, and community.
An outstanding student-athlete, Preston excelled in football, baseball, and wrestling. In 2023, he earned honorable mention in the Grossmont Hills League and was named Lineman of the Year at West Hills High School. During the 2023-2024 wrestling season, he placed in the top five at CIF and finished in the top six at the Master’s Tournament for heavyweights. Preston was a true competitor—a powerhouse on the field and the mat.

We believe every student-athlete deserves a chance to pursue their dreams. That’s why we offer annual scholarships to eligible high school seniors in San Diego County.

High school seniors in San Diego County who are on track to graduate and actively participate in sports are eligible. Applicants must also submit a letter from their school counselor or administration confirming eligibility.
Applications can be submitted through a written essay or video response. Answer the three application questions provided on our website and include the required proof of eligibility from your school. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026.
We accept online monetary donations, sponsorships, and new sports equipment. Every donation helps us support student-athletes and fulfill our mission.
